    I really like how you created new landscapes with the transition between GIFs. It adds a new element that reminds me of time travel. What did you use to cut out the mountains and sand dunes? I also really like the frame rate you chose because it's not too fast, but the image doesn't linger too long. Great job!

The idea of “cyborg art” was absolutely fascinating to me and brings up many questions about today’s society and the way it is headed. With our continued reliance on technology, it makes you wonder how long it will be until we start to foray into making ourselves cyborgs of sorts. DTC 101 Reading Response 1

What I found most interesting in this reading was the way that the author related the way we look at art as having a "message" or meaning, to the way machines and technology have a "message" that alters human affairs in some way. The way I understood this was that in the same way a paintbrush and canvas can be used to create an infinite number of messages, the mediums of an electric light bulb or an airplane can be used in a myriad of ways to alter the lives of humans. I thought this was a relatively simple point to understand, but I had a little bit more trouble deciphering the significance of this knowledge. The author points to companies being able to improve their business by knowing the message of their product, rather than just its physical characteristics. Code of Best Practices Response

This document was something I was really interested in reading as I went into it, copyright and fair use conversations are becoming more and more prevalent in our society, yet often the exact rules of what constitutes copyright infringement don’t always seem to be clear. Something I didn’t think about that was brought up in the document was about how nonprofessional video can be much more easily distributed nowadays, and as such there is more of a chance for these amateur videos to possibly have an affect on established businesses, making knowing these laws even more important. What I was surprised to read was that fair use does not necessarily have an explicit letter of law, but rather it is flexible and able to be changed to apply to different circumstances. I can definitely see how this is a good attribute, as art in particular is a very broad field, so applying one set law to regulate it would be very difficult.
